Akanee means ‘fire’ in Thai and is also the name of the ‘God of Fire’ in folklore. In traditional Thai cooking, charcoal is used to grill in clay stoves (tao-tan) and heat is controlled with woven fans (pad).
This element of fire is also the key to crafting the nostalgic taste of Thai regional dishes at Akanee.
OUR MENU
The menu features yum (salads and starters), gaeng (Thai curry), pad and tod (stir fry and fried), khao and sen (rice and noodles), yang (grill) and kanom (desserts) which come in sets and an a la carte menu. This Thai version of grill house serves genuine flavors from Thai regional favorites, including the famous Khao Mok Kai and Khao Soi.
OUR PLACE
The restaurant is a light and airy two-story atrium designed by Taste Space that is inspired by traditional Thai cooking elements, such as the clay stove color and woven fan patterns. Akanee can seat up to 60 guests, including a private space that can seat up to 12 guests. A partially open kitchen showcases the grill where diners can have a sneak peek at the culinary action. The restaurant also features a bar with a variety of beverages as well as beer and wine selections.
