Akanee means ‘fire’ in Thai and is also the name of the ‘God of Fire’ in folklore. In traditional Thai cooking, charcoal is used to grill in clay stoves (tao-tan) and heat is controlled with woven fans (pad).
This element of fire is also the key to crafting the nostalgic taste of Thai regional dishes at Akanee.
